Greenpoint Speech
Julia Lake M.S., CCC-SLP
Julia Lake is the founder and treating clinician at Greenpoint Speech. She earned a Master’s of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University, with a Bilingual Extension in Polish and Spanish. Julia holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Julia has over 10 years of experience in diverse pediatric settings—including hospitals, schools, and in-home care. She spent 5 years in the outpatient pediatrics department at NYU Langone, where she became a speech supervisor for graduate clinicians and clinical fellows. During this time, she gained extensive experience evaluating and treating children with expressive and receptive language delays, articulation and phonological disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Julia believes in evidence-based practice combined with a play-based, holistic approach, ensuring therapy is both effective and engaging. Her unique methods promote speech and language development while fostering a love of learning. She actively involves parents and caregivers, providing home exercises and strategies to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions.
As a mom of two and a former swim instructor, Julia loves spending her free time teaching her kids how to swim.
